Company History: Lane Homes & Remodeling, Inc. - Custom Remodeling in Richmond,VA

In 1984, Ed and Catherine Lane opened the doors of Standard Additions of Virginia. The company quickly became known for the quality craftsmanship and high level of integrity that it offered homeowners in the Richmond, VA metropolitan area.

Standard Additions continued to operate successfully through early 1994; earning a solid reputation for being a quality oriented design/build remodeling contractor; providing excellence in workmanship; exceeding clients expectations; and honesty and fair play.

In 1994, the decision was made to change the corporation's name to Lane Homes & Remodeling, Inc. to be more in line with long-range plans of expanding it's remodeling services to include additions, kitchens, bathrooms, sunrooms, full house remodels, and other renovation and home improvement projects along with building custom homes.

Also in 1994, the corporation moved its offices into a commercial office building at 12536 Patterson Ave. adjacent to the West Creek Complex. In 1997, Edward Lane IV officially joined the corporation's management staff after ten years of hands-on training in home remodeling and construction and earning a B.S. in Business Management.

Company management and staff serve on the Boards of Directors, advisory boards or are active in many community service organizations. They include the YMCC, Junior Achievement, West End Rotary, Goochland Rotary, Goochland Chamber of Commerce, Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and the Small Business Advisory Board of Wachovia Bank. This partial list is an indicator of the level of commitment of L.H.R.I. to the community we serve.

The number of employees has grown and the number of projects completed each year has increased; however, the company's mission remains the same:
