BASEMENTS & ATTICS SHOWCASE
Moving Up Not Out

Creating access for this attic conversion required major design creativity. Originally, access to the attic was through one of the bedrooms. That entrance was closed off and a unique bridge was created from the second floor landing to the exterior wall. The steps to the attic now start on the new bridge.

From just an ordinary dark attic to a bright and cheerful family room/playroom - a place for children to watch television, play games or work on the computer, it has quickly become a cozy family hangout. The new 320 square feet includes an alcove for the TV, built-in video bookshelves, a storage closet, two roof windows that open, two skylights, a ventless gas fireplace, ceiling fans, and recessed lighting.
