KITCHENS SHOWCASE
It Left Me Speechless
Although the original kitchen in this River Road area home was quite functional, it did not complement the lifestyle of the new owners.
Walls separating the kitchen from the family room, breakfast room, and sunroom left the cook feeling isolated and left out. By judiciously
removing walls and completely reconfiguring the kitchen, this area is much more family friendly. The large island not only provides workspace
for the cook and a convenient spot for snacks or homework but has tons of built-in storage. A small pantry is tucked under one end and cabinets
with plenty of space for seldom used items line two sides. Beautiful stonework on the backsplash and over the range adds an elegant touch. An
old butler’s pantry was changed into a new prep kitchen with everything within easy reach. The breakfast area features a wrap-around banquette
with additional storage underneath. A new wet bar with wine captain is conveniently located near the sunroom and by-pass French doors in the
sunroom lead out to the terrace.
