2025 Remodeler of the Year Awards

Lane Homes and Remodeling was recently attended the Professional Remodeling Organization’s annual “Remodeler of the Year” gala. It was a delight to return downtown to the Omni where the event is hosted.

The PRO gala is a celebration of the construction industry and recognizes the achievements of dedicated professionals across Central Virginia.

Lane submitted 6 projects in different categories and received 3 merit awards for our work. Below is more information on the projects we shared at the gala:

Spacious Custom Home

A custom home that blends refined design with family-focused functionality. An expansive, open-concept kitchen with professional-grade appliances anchors the living space, integrated seamlessly with wide-plank oak hardwood floors. Modern finishes & fixtures are polished with traditional detailing, creating a timeless & inviting aesthetic. Larger-than-life storage is found throughout multiple bedrooms, versatile rec room, gym, office, and outdoor porch & pool. From heated bathroom floors in an expansive primary suite to numerous multi-car garages, every detail balances luxury, practicality, and comfort, ensuring the home is as functional as it is beautiful for generations to come.

Banana Cream Bath

This first-floor bathroom was reimagined into a cheerful, highly functional retreat that showcases the homeowners’ playful aesthetic. Staying within the original footprint, the design maximizes storage with a wider vanity, custom linen cabinets, and built-in niches for everyday essentials. Sherwin-Williams Banana Cream brightens the wainscoting, paired with champagne bronze fixtures and a diamond-and-dot tile floor that lightens the space from the ground up. A floral wallpaper pulls the color story together with thoughtful pops of yellow and pink. The result is a joyful, detail-rich bathroom that balances charm, function, and a touch of whimsy.

New Traditional Entire House Addition

This 1960s ranch was reimagined into a forever home that balances accessibility, light, and timeless design. Once dark and compartmentalized, the house now features open, connected spaces with widened hallways and seamless transitions for ease of movement. Natural light fills the home, highlighting classic trim, elegant finishes, and personalized nooks designed for birdwatching, morning coffee, and entertaining. Expanding the footprint with 3 additions allowed expansive square footage, blending new areas seamlessly with the original structure. The result is a bright, welcoming home that supports daily rituals, hosting, and long-term aging in place with grace.

Cobblestone Cottage Kitchen

This kitchen remodel transformed a former horse stable into a unified, open living space while honoring its historic character. A wall was removed to create a great room combining kitchen, dining, and living areas, tripling countertop space and adding a separate walk-in pantry. A corner sink was placed to capture countryside views, framed by original stone wall windows. Unique kitchen detailing is found in Boston Mill thin brick backsplash with gray mortar, a custom brick arch, and herringbone accents for historic continuity. The result is a bright, cottage-style kitchen blending modern functionality with timeless charm.

Warm Transitional Kitchen and Bar

Opening a wall between the kitchen and dining room to created a bright, spacious first-floor layout. A large central island, complete with a Thermador dual fuel range and steam oven, anchors the design and provides seating for casual meals or gatherings. Custom pantry cabinetry flanks the refrigerator and freezer columns, while a former pantry closet was transformed into a coffee bar. Rich cherry wood contrasts with soft white cabinetry for warmth and balance. With improved flow, storage, and craftsmanship, the new kitchen is a welcoming hub for entertaining and everyday family life.

English Inspired Kitchen

This kitchen renovation blends timeless function with sustainable luxury, designed to serve both daily living and large family gatherings. At the center, a striking marble-look island doubles as a showpiece and a unifying design element, extending into the backsplash for a seamless effect. Custom inset cabinetry painted Farrow & Ball Pigeon maximizes storage with hidden organizers and appliance garages, while walnut pull-out tables provide flexible seating for every occasion. Champagne bronze hardware and herringbone hardwood floors add sophistication, creating a durable, flexible kitchen that marries elegance with enduring practicality.
