Historic Revival

Built in 1922 and originally designed by renowned Richmond architect Duncan Lee, this Colonial Revival home was thoughtfully renovated to honor its historic character while making it beautifully livable for today. Rather than reinventing the home, the renovation carefully preserved its original architectural rhythm, including graceful archways, detailed molding, wall paneling, hardwood floors, and period-sensitive details throughout. The reimagined kitchen became the heart of the project, designed for a homeowner who loves to cook, entertain, and gather with others, with custom cabinetry, cookbook storage, a generous butler’s pantry, unlacquered brass fixtures, and new French doors that open to expanded brick and bluestone outdoor living spaces. Every selection, from traditional fixtures to restored finishes, was chosen with permanence and restraint in mind, resulting in a home that feels rooted in its 1920s heritage while fully supporting the way its owners live today.
