Design Assistant Summer Intern

This paid internship is a great opportunity for a college student who wants hands-on experience in the design and construction industry. The Design Assistant Summer Intern will gain exposure to the tools, terminology, and day-to-day workflow involved in creating successful, high-quality projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, highly organized, and excited to support both client-facing and internal design tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn and use construction management software for accurate and consistent data entry related to client selections and materials
  • Participate in biweekly sales meetings
  • Assist the Sales Manager with a variety of daily tasks, including both client-facing and internal support
  • Support Design Consultants with material sourcing, presentations, and client follow-up
  • Help the team schedule appointments and stay organized

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience or exposure to the interior design, architecture, or construction industry, including university coursework or a related academic program
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and vendors both in person and over the phone
  • Able to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have reliable transportation, as frequent pickup and delivery of client samples is a routine part of this position.

Project Manager

We’re looking for the Best of the Best! Award-winning residential remodeling company, Lane Homes & Remodeling, is looking for a skilled, multi-talented individual for this Project Manager position. This person will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously and serves as the representative for dealing with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, plan and manage schedules for all projects assigned  
  • Manage field crew and subcontractors’ schedules to ensure timely completion of projects  
  • Ensure all subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work and negotiate as necessary  
  • Maintain and update the construction schedules for assigned projects in BuilderTrend on a weekly basis  
  • Attend all pre-construction meetings for assigned projects  
  • Manage all aspects of the construction process  
  • Request labor support when needed and supervise their work  
  • Schedule all subcontractors  
  • Complete material takeoffs  
  • Manage projects to bring them in or under budget and on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards to ensure client satisfaction
